Conference & Keynote Coverage: Recording Speaker, Slides, and Audience Simultaneously
How do you cover a keynote with phones?
For conference recordings, assign views to the speaker, readable slides, and relevant audience reactions. Confirm presentation permissions and keep the speaker's main audio continuous through the edit.
Put it into practice
- Ask the organizer which slides, demonstrations, and attendees may appear. Identify sensitive material that should remain outside the published recording.
- Test slide readability from the camera position using the smallest text in the deck. Where a permitted direct slide recording is needed, arrange it as a separate source.
- Rehearse a slide change and audience question. Keep at least one useful speaker view uninterrupted, and review the speaker audio before choosing reaction cutaways.
Protect readability and continuous speech
Test the smallest text on a representative slide from the proposed camera view. If it is unreadable, arrange an authorized alternative source or simplify the recorded coverage. A wide shot showing the entire stage may not convey the slide's information.
Keep the speaker's audio continuous while attention changes between speaker and material. Confirm permissions for the presentation and review a sample containing a slide change and a spoken reference.
- Test slide text
- Preserve continuous speech
- Confirm presentation permissions
Questions creators ask
What if slides are unreadable in the camera view?
Test representative slides at the final viewing size. Obtain permitted slide assets or improve the camera position rather than publishing tiny text beside a large speaker pane.
Which sound should carry the keynote recording?
Plan a dependable speaker audio source and inspect it through the whole rehearsal. Additional audience views should not interrupt intelligibility or introduce competing room sound.
A mistake to avoid
A camera aimed at the projection screen may capture text too small or flickering to serve as the only presentation record.
