Whiteboard & Screen Integration: Combining Face-Cam with Digital Visual Aids

How do you combine an instructor with visual aids?

Combine face and visual aids only when the aid remains readable and matches the explanation. A camera recording a whiteboard and a direct digital screen recording are different source types.

Put it into practice

  1. Write a small test example on the board and inspect it from the intended camera position. Use sufficiently large lettering and keep reflections away from the writing area.
  2. For digital material, arrange a permitted screen recording or exported slide asset separately. Do not assume a distant camera pointed at a monitor will preserve the text.
  3. Check the completed lesson on a phone with captions visible. Keep the visual aid large enough to follow and hold diagrams while the instructor explains them.

Test the smallest teaching detail

Write the smallest notation used in the lesson and record it from the planned board camera. If it cannot be read in the final layout, change the writing size or coverage. A full-board preview does not prove that a reduced pane will teach effectively.

Treat direct screen recording as a different source from a camera filming a board. Use VidFuego for supported camera coverage and test any digital-source assembly separately.

  • Test small notation
  • Review the final pane
  • Separate screen and camera sources

Questions creators ask

What should you test with a whiteboard view?

Test the smallest meaningful writing and the instructor's full movement. Check whether the hand or body hides the explanation in the finished layout.

Does a whiteboard camera replace digital screen capture?

It records a physical scene. Use separately verified screen recording for digital applications and distinguish that source from supported VidFuego camera coverage.

A mistake to avoid

A face-and-slide split that makes both panes tiny can hide the very information the lesson needs.

From idea to recording

Try it with VidFuego

Use Squad Fuses for instructor and physical whiteboard coverage. Add separate screen assets in a finishing editor; VidFuego is not advertised as a digital screen-recording tool.

Record synchronized angles from multiple supported devices. Free includes a two-camera Nearby session. Higher camera counts and Anywhere hosting depend on your plan.

Before the full take

Define what the learner should understand or be able to do. Rehearse the difficult action with a context view and a readable detail view, then ask a fresh viewer to identify any missing step before recording the course.

Record a short test, review the picture and sound, then adjust the setup. A rehearsal on your actual devices is the quickest way to check whether the workflow fits the scene.
