Scripting a Video With Distinct A-Cam and B-Cam Roles

How do you give A-cam and B-cam distinct script roles?

Write the explanation around what the viewer needs to see, then assign the main and supporting angles accordingly. A camera change should reveal evidence, expression or useful context rather than interrupt every sentence.

Put it into practice

  1. Mark script moments where the speaker introduces, demonstrates and checks the result.
  2. Assign the demonstration view to the action the main view cannot show clearly.
  3. Rehearse the transitions without requiring the performer to acknowledge every camera.

A script cue that helps the recording

Use a cue such as: explain the clamp, tighten it in the detail view, then show the secured phone. The supporting angle can carry a complete action while the speaker continues naturally. This makes the visual plan concrete without turning the conversation into a sequence of distracting camera calls.

Questions creators ask

What should the supporting camera reveal?

It should reveal evidence, expression or detail unavailable in the main explanation view. Assign its job around the viewer's question rather than an arbitrary switch schedule.

How should you rehearse the scripted angle plan?

Record the explanation and action together, then check whether the useful view appears at the needed moment. Revise the camera job before recording a full batch.

A mistake to avoid

Naming A-Cam and B-Cam does not make two nearly identical views useful.
