Choosing Stacked and Side-by-Side Video Layouts for Phone Screens

How do you choose a phone-friendly multi-angle layout?

Choose a layout by the subject's shape and the job of each camera. Small phone screens reward clear faces and meaningful detail; neither stacked nor side-by-side framing is universally best for every source orientation.

Put it into practice

  1. Record the same short action with the camera positions you intend to use.
  2. Compare the supported composition treatments at the size viewers will actually watch.
  3. Check pane boundaries for clipped gestures, crowded faces and repeated empty background.

Compare the information in each view

A tall standing movement and a wide tabletop action have different space needs. Give each view enough room to show its essential subject, then decide whether seeing both simultaneously helps. For Solo Dual-Cam, remember that front and back cameras face opposite directions; they do not provide two lenses aimed at the same scene.

Questions creators ask

What should determine which view gets more space?

Give more space to the information viewers need at that moment. A small detail can deserve more prominence than a full presenter frame during a technical step.

How do you verify camera order through export?

Review a short completed Fuse and confirm the intended view positions. Check the saved output rather than relying only on the initial capture arrangement.

A mistake to avoid

Choosing a layout from a still screenshot misses problems introduced by movement.

Before the full take

Review a saved portrait export at phone size. Check faces, demonstrations, interface overlays and audio together before uploading the same file to each destination.

Record a short test, review the picture and sound, then adjust the setup. A rehearsal on your actual devices is the quickest way to check whether the workflow fits the scene.
