Keeping a Bullpen Video History Without Making Medical Claims

What belongs in a useful bullpen video history?

Save the drill, date and a few notes with each bullpen clip. You'll have a clearer record of what the pitcher practiced, while recovery and return-to-throwing decisions stay with their qualified care team.

Put it into practice

  1. Record the session date, approved drill and intended recording purpose before capturing the athlete.
  2. Keep camera references stable when the coach wants comparable practice views.
  3. Store the approved exports with factual session labels rather than medical conclusions inferred from the footage.

Choose evidence the recording can actually show

Exclude private health details from a public coaching reel. Where a medical record is involved, the organization must approve the recording and storage system before use; ordinary athlete consent does not establish a clinical compliance program.

Questions coaches ask

Does the bullpen history prove injury recovery?

No. A dated practice record does not establish readiness or a medical outcome. The athlete's qualified care team makes decisions about rehabilitation and return to throwing.

Where should sensitive health information go?

Only into a workflow the responsible organization has approved for that information. Do not assume a general creator app is a compliant clinical record system.

A mistake to avoid

A smoother-looking delivery is not evidence that an injured athlete is ready for a greater workload.

Before the full take

Choose protected phone positions with the coach before practice starts. Keep them out of throwing and batting paths, film a short test and label each player's attempts as you go.

Record a short test, review the picture and sound, then adjust the setup. A rehearsal on your actual devices is the quickest way to check whether the workflow fits the scene.
